Johnie West
Johnie Sugg West passed peacefully from this life on May 23, 2013 at her home in Amory, Mississippi. She was born on the Sugg Farm in Monroe County, the daughter of the late John David and Ettie Jane Parham Sugg. She married Carl Edward West, former Police Chief of Amory, in 1962. Johnie graduated from Hatley High School and attended Itawamba Junior College in Fulton. She worked at Amory Garment in the computer department for several years, and later at Security Bank, from which she retired. Her co-workers and many customers remember her sweet smile and kind words. She was a member of the Amory Church of Christ, and truly loved her church family. She enjoyed the beauty of nature, and enjoyed many walks in the forests and woodlands, camping, and just sitting quietly in her beautiful back yard or at her cabin in the woods. She also had a great love of the ocean, and was never happier than when strolling along the beach collecting seashells.
