John Raymond Smith

Nettleton – John Raymond Smith, 75, died on Friday, October 31, 2014, at Gilmore Memorial RMC, Amory. Born on May 22, 1939, in Monroe County, he was a son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Gertrude Blaylock Smith.

He attended Wren School. Before retiring, he was a supervisor of a printing company. Mr. Smith enjoyed conversation, talking about cattle, was a huge football fan, loved to trade livestock and listening to Country music. He was a member of the NRA.

Survivors include his daughter, Rain Questa, Corinth and Debbie Smith, Murfreesboro, TN; son, Benjamin Smith, Corinth; brother, Roy Harold Smith (Opal), Wesson; several nieces & nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 5 brothers.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2 PM, Monday, November 3 in Liberty Cemetery with Pastor Dennis Smithey officiating. Pallbearers will be John E. Smith, Wayne Towery, Edward Jolly, Cory Jolly, Ryan Clayton, Craig Berry, Robert Smith and Andy Smith.

Visitation will be from Noon – 1:30 PM, Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to St. Jude, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
