Born on February 17, 1960, in Tupelo, he was a son of Lucy Bourland Scott and the late F. Wallace Scott.John was a graduate of Amory High School, Class of 1978, and a graduate of Northeast MS Junior College. John married Wanda Pippin on November 11, 1988. A gentle yet strong man, he had worked for Donald Fly Electric, JESCO for sixteen years, and worked with his brother, Ben, the last few years. John was a member of First United Methodist Church. Being very talented, he enjoyed working with his hands. A man of few words, John had a great sense of humor, was creative, and artistic. His dog, Annie, was his faithful friend. John enjoyed working in his shop, making stained glass and copper flowers, and listening to Oldies Rock-N-Roll.He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Wanda P. Scott and daughter, Christina Jean Scott, of Amory; mother, Lucy B. Scott, Amory; sisters, Lynn Haley (Johnnie), Amory, Dale Stanford and Semmie Wicker (Tom), of Tupelo; brother, Ben Scott (Minnie), Amory; and nieces and nephews, John and Scott Haley; Claire and Luke Stanford; Camille, Benjamin, and Dylan Scott; and Abby Christian.A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, December 17 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Rev. Warren Coile officiating. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gary Pippin, Scott Haley, Luke Stanford, Anthony Bowen, Jerry Word, Dale Fullerton, Donald Fly, and James Pippin.Visitation will be from 9 – 10:45 AM, Saturday at the funeral home.Memorials may be given to First United Methodist Church, PO Box 147, Amory, MS 38821.Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at eepicklefuneralhome.com.
