Bro. John E. (Johnny) Hatcher
Wren—Bro. John Edgar Hatcher,74, died Friday, September 12, 2014 at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born July 2, 1940 in Dumas, MS the late Luther Moore Hatcher and Hazel Johnson Hatcher.
Bro. Hatcher attended Dumas High School in Dumas. On January 16, 1960, he married Eva Strawhorn Hatcher. He worked for Kerr McGee in manufacturing maintenance for several years. Bro. Hatcher favorite job was working for God as a Pastor for Victory Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and his church. He listened to Gospel music and let Jesus guide him daily. Bro. Hatcher loved to shoot pistols and work with cattle on the farm. His greatest achievement in life was being a Christian and serving God.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Jerry Hatcher (Linda), Quincy, and Jamie Hatcher (Sandy) Wren; eleven sisters; nine brothers; grandchildren, Justin Hatcher; Lesley Hatcher; Josh Hatcher; Brandon Hatcher; Kortney Harper; Dillan Parker, Aaron Parker; great-grandchildren, Tristan Hatcher; Hailee Hatcher; Elizabeth Hatcher; Tanner Hatcher; Wyatt Harper; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Steve Hatcher.
A Funeral Service will be held at 3:30 PM, Sunday, September 14 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Wayne Higgins and Bro. Ronnie Sutton officiating. Pallbearers will be Chris Floyd, Darin Brown, Alex Floyd, Brentt Floyd, Jason Brown, Dalton Floyd, Roger McCarley, and James Castle.
Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM, Saturday at the funeral home.
