– Joe Douglas Chamblee, 70, died on Thursday, February 10, 2011, at Gilmore Memorial RMC. Born on May 3, 1940, in Itawamba County, he was a son of the late Marshall and Ninnie Lou Tubb Chamblee.Mr. Chamblee was a graduate of Tremont High School, Class of 1958. While attending IJC, he went into the US Army and honorably served his country for six years as a Specialist Helicopter Crew Chief. Mr. Chamblee owned and operated Chamblee Pest Control and Fence Company and worked as a sewing machine mechanic. He was Baptist and enjoyed listening to Gospel music, hunting and fishing, and traveling. He is survived by his wife, Sydnie Welch Chamblee, Amory; son, Brien (Debbie) Chamblee, Amory; sister, Fay (Robert) Lindsay, Amory; brothers, Marvin (Blanche) Chamblee, Hatley and Charles (Mary) Chamblee, Fulton; sister-in-law, Betty (Don) Leech, Amory; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Carlisle “Buck” and Eunice Jordan Welch; and a sister, Mary Lee Duvall.A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1 PM, Saturday at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory with Bro. Johnny Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his nephews.Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM at the funeral home on Friday.Memorials may be given to Victory Baptist Church Building Fund, P. O.
