Amory, MS – JoAn Duke, 84, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at Oak Tree Nursing Home. Born on August 20, 1930, in Clinton, KY she was a daughter of the late Georgia Lipchinski and Ernest Hayden.
JoAn grew up in Clinton, KY, where she attended High School. She later attended Junior College in Paduch. She was a caring woman who worked as an LPN in a Nursing Home in Clinton, KY. Jo An raised three wonderful children. She married Jerry Duke on May 17, 1999. JoAn was a Baptist who was soft-hearted, caring, content, and she loved spending time with her husband. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, especially their trip special trip to Alaska. In her free time, JoAn enjoyed listening to Country Western music.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Duke, Amory, MS; son, John L. Moss, Arlington, TX; daughters, Kathleen O’Hara, Atlanta, GA, and Janice Lynn, Mount Pleasant, MI; grandchildren, Kacey and Kayla Burpo; one great-grandchild, Asher Ky Burpo; niece Roseann Brady, Seattle, WA.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mabel.
Her Funeral Service will be held at 2PM, Friday, August 7, 2015, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home, Arlington, KY, with Rev. David Sphiax officiating. Burial will follow in Clinton City Cemetery, Clinton, KY.
Visitation will be from 10 AM until the service hour at the funeral home.
