Smithville – Jo Helen Lindley, 67, died on Thursday, April 28, 2011, at North MS Medical Center, Tupelo. Born on June 18, 1943, in Red Bay, AL, she was a daughter of the late Milton Martin& May Bell Martin Snow.
Mrs. Lindley was a graduate of Red Bay High School. After retiring from Amory Garment, she worked part-time at Oak Park Amoco. Mrs. Lindley was a member of Smithville Church of Christ. A loving and fun lady, her family, especially her grandchildren, were very important to her. She looked forward to eating and traveling to the mountains with Danny and Teresa Stephenson as well as her weekly trips to the beauty shop. Mrs. Lindley enjoyed reading Romance novels and listening to Gospel and Elvis Presley music.
She is survived by her sons, Freddie Joe Lindley, II, Smithville, and Mansel Scott (Laura Jo) Lindley, Amory; sisters, Joyce Snow, Washington State and Barbara Cowley, Smithville; brother, Johnny Ray Snow, Smithville; grandchildren, Joseph Scott and Freddie James Lindley; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-dad, George Snow, and brother, Leroy Martin.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, May 1, 2011, at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Mr. Mickey Beam officiating. Burial will follow in Young Memorial Garden. Pallbearers will be Jerry Pierce, Danny Stephenson, Will Frederick, John Rutledge, Jackie Abels and Dale Ford.
Visitation will be from 5-8 PM on Saturday, April 30, 2011.
