Ruleville – Jimmy Dale Brown, 63, died on Saturday, December 10, 2011, at North Sunflower Medical Center. Born on May 16, 1948, in Monroe County, he was a son of the late Errie Judson and Leslie Gertrude Vick Brown.
Jimmy attended Becker School and worked as a logger with Bill McAllister before retiring. Growing up in the Baptist faith, he was attending a Church of God. A caring person who had the ability to make others laugh, Jimmy enjoyed being outdoors in the woods, hunting and fishing, family get-togethers, and listening to Gospel and Country music.
He is survived by his daughter, Margaret Ann Striplind, Amory; brothers, Dubert Brown and William Brown, of Amory, and Larry Gene Brown, Aberdeen; sisters, Ava Coplin, Janice Livingston, and Judy Adams, all of Amory; grandsons, Floyd, Jonathan, and Dale Striplind; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 sisters and 3 brothers.
A Graveside Service will be held at 1 PM, Tuesday, December 13 at New Hope Cemetery with Bro. Shane Ray officiating. Pallbearers will be David and Johnny Ray Edwards, Lamar Reeves, John Curtis, Cory Livingston, Stanley Gray, and Blake Carlisle.
Visitation will be from 11 – 12:20 PM at the funeral home.
