Ssg Jimmy C. Belue Sr.

Aberdeen – SSG, Jimmy C. Belue, Sr., 74, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Columbus. Born on October 26, 1941, in Aberdeen, MS, he was a son of the late John and Mable Bruff Belue.

Mr. Belue attended school at Children’s Mansion, later obtained his GED at East Ms. Community College, and furthered his education by getting his Associates Degree in Machining. Jimmy married the love of his life, Rita Friebel, on December 3, 1960. They were happily married for 56 years and together they raised seven children. His first career was serving this great country. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1957-1979 and he held many positions. He was in the infantry while stationed at Fort Benning in Georgia. He was also a Tank Commander. He was stationed in Germany and on the border in Korea. Jimmy really enjoyed his life experiences while living in Germany for 16 years. He retired from the Army after serving for 22 years. After the Army, he worked for Beliot Manhattan Inc. and retired after 20 years of employment.

Jimmy was of the Baptist faith. He was a self made man who worked hard to provide for his family. His strong will was apparent in all the accomplishments he obtained in life. He was of the “old school” mindset. He enjoyed being outdoors especially fishing, hunting, operating his bulldozer, and driving his tractor. Jimmy was an excellent cook.


Survivors include his wife and best friend, Rita; daughters, Karelia Langer (Hanz), West Germany, Peggy Guyton (Randy) Amory, Petra Garner (Thomas), Bragg City, MO; sons, Jerry Belue (Melissa), Aberdeen, Jimmy Belue, Jr., Aberdeen, John Belue, Aberdeen, and Joe Belue, Becker; nine grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Lee, Nora Dale Strange, Nancy Belue; brothers, J. C. Belue, and John Belue.

His Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM, Thursday, January 21, 2016, at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory, with Bro. David Pannell officiating. Burial will be in Hatley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Austin Belue, Jonathan Guyton, Blake Garner, Trey Burt, Dennis McCory, and Walley Morgan. Honorary pallbearer will be Buddy House.

Visitation will be from 5-8 PM on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at the funeral home.
