Smithville, Miss.—Jimmie Lou Horne Little, 83, died on Saturday, November 16, 2013 in Hot Springs, AR. Born April 6, 1930 in Itawamba County, she was a daughter of Relder V. and Ruby Jewell Anthony Horne. A 1948 graduate of Smithville High School, she was married to James Little in 1949. With a strong belief as Jesus Christ as her savior she was a member of the Smithville Baptist Church. Before her retirement, she was a bookkeeper for J.W. Little Gin and Feed Co., a bookkeeper for People’s Drug in Amory, and a homemaker. She enjoyed reading, listening to gospel music, spending time with her family, and she was known as an accomplished seamstress.
A Celebration of Life Service 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Bro. Wes White officiating. Burial will be in the Haughton Memorial Park in Amory.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Cynthia Little Duncan of Hot Springs, AR, Carol Little Carey of Skwentna, AK, and Cathy Roberta Little of Hot Springs, AR; 3 sisters, Marcelle Medley of Smithville, Martha Holland (Joe) of Smithville, and Carolyn Murphy of Amory; one brothers, Jack Horne (Patsy)of Smithville; 3 grandchildren, Alison Hall Langston, James Eric Cruber (Julie), and Daniel Conner; one great grandchild, Grayson Hall Langston; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Marion McWherter and Linda Cadden; and one brother, Jerry Horne.
Pallbearers will be John Holland, Dwayne Pickle, Nathan Pickle, Tommy Cole, Ralph Dill, Wayne Weatherbee, and Keith Towery. Honorary pallbearers will be Dick Millender and Richard Justice.
Visitation will continue until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
