Fulton – Jewel Oleta “Jo” Silas, 82, died on Monday, January 30, 2012, at The Meadows in Fulton. Born on December 14, 1929, in Amory, she was a daughter of the late Andy and Nola Sallis Linsdey.
A loving, caring mother, Mrs. Silas was very dedicated to her family. She married Dalton Ray Silas, Sr., on December 28, 1946. Mrs. Silas was a homemaker and a Jehovah’s Witness.
A Graveside Service will be held at 1 PM, Thursday, February 2 at Turon Cemetery with Mr. Lecil Pierce, minister, officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:50 PM, Thursday.
She is survived by her sons, Dalton Ray Silas, Jr. (Cindy Lou), Turon, Lindsey Allen Silas (Nanette) and Bryce Jackson Silas (Juanita), of Birmingham, and Joseph Brandt Silas, Turon; brother, Andy D. Lindsey (Madaline), Turon; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a very dear friend, Mozelle Wilson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dalton Ray Silas, Sr.; sisters, Nell Johnson, Melba Falls, and Elizabeth Kent; and brothers, Bill, T. J. Pat, and Ross Lindsey.
