Jewel Howell

Amory - Jewell Marie Pearson Howell, 91, died on Friday, August 22, 2013 at the Pioneer Community Hospital in Aberdeen. Born October 20, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Carl and Claude Kyle Pearson.

She attended Wren schools and married Benford Howell in 1941. Before her retirement, she was a seamstress working for Amory Garment and later for Red Kapp. She was a member of the New Hope Primitive Baptist Church in Hatley and she enjoyed reading.

A Celebration of Life Service will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory . Burial will be in the Hatley Cemetery.

Survivors include one son, Lloyd Howell (Joyce) of Amory; 4 sisters, Frances Isbell of Guin, AL, Peggy Head (Billy Wayne) of Athens, Glinda Smith (Greg) of South Carolina, and Judy Dove (Carl) of Hatley; 3 sisters-in-law, Mary Sue Hilliard of Amory, Sarah Pearson of Hatley, and Jural Pearson of Hatley; 3 brothers, Billy Pearson (Bonita) of Hatley, Herman Pearson (Martha) of Aberdeen, and Dennis Pearson (Pat) of Amory; 3 grandchildren, Melissa Cowley (Connie) of Amory, Teresa Howell of Cordova, TN, and Craig Howell (Brandi) of Muscle Shoals, AL; and 5 great grandchildren, Kaylin Cowley, Bryce Cowley, Lakely Howell, Jackson Howell, and Abigail Jewel Howell.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 3 brothers, W.C. Pearson, Lee Roy Pearson, and Steve Pearson; and 2 sisters, Earnestine Roberts and Mary Ann Cantrell.

Pallbearers will be David Pickle, Loyd Pearson, Boyd Pearson, Anthony Pearson, Jeff Pearson, Josh Pearson, Tommy Head, and Alan Pearson.

Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
