Amory – Jerry Lee Shelton, 30, died on Thursday, August 4, 2011, at his residence. Born on September 23, 1980, in Amory, he was a son of Jerry Lee Forrester and Mary Sue Humphries and the late Halbert Grady Shelton.
Lee attended Amory High School. Having worked as a nailer-framer at FFM, he was a cook at Pickle Barrel. Enjoying the outdoors, Lee did yard work on the side. He was a member of East Amory Baptist Church. His family and children were his pride and joy. Lee enjoyed fishing, visiting with friends, and listening Country and Gospel as well as a wide variety of music. Jolly and outgoing, Lee loved art, enjoyed drawing, and was a tattoo artist.
He is survived by his mother, Sue Shelton, Amory; father, Jerry Lee Forrester, Amory; wife, Elizabeth Jill Miles Shelton, Amory; daughters, Katelyn Grace Miles and his daughter who will be born on Tuesday, Mary Elizabeth Shelton, both of Amory; sons, Jeremy Lee Shelton and Caleb Austin Weaver, both of Amory; Ivy Nicole Womac (Cody), Columbus; brothers, Patrick Ray Forrester (Kim), Amory; Larry Shelton (Angie) Olive Branch, Kenny Shelton, Amory, and Jonathan Patterson, Tupelo; and a nephew and niece, Hayden Miles Womac and Jayden Ray Forrester.
He was preceded in death by his adopted father, Halbert Shelton; grandfather, Sidney Forrester; great-grandmother, Ivy Hill; nieces, Mackenzie Alexus Forrester and Rachon Shelton; and nephew, Brayden Forrester.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, August 6 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Roger Akers officiating. Burial will follow in Haughton Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Jim Foster, Brian Smith, Keith Johnson, David Benton, Larry Kuykendall, and Nathan Kuykendall.
