Jerry Lee Hamlett

Mr. Jerry Hamlett, 61, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2018 Lafayette General Hospital in Lafeyette, Louisiana.. Born on January 6, 1957, in Allegan, Michigan, he was a son of the late William T. and Arlena Crystal Willingham Hamlett.

Mr. Hamlett was a tree cutter and trimmer by trade. He also enjoyed carpentry and painting. He enjoyed being outdoors and especially loved to fish for catfish. Jerry was a very loving and caring individual. He would help any one that needed him. Fear was not a part of Jerry however, he did fear one thing—spiders.

Jerry is survived by his daughter, Chasney Wright (Brian), Caledonia; step son, Chris Nelson; step-daughters, Tracy Franks and Teresa Nelson; sisters: Debbie Marcum, Brilliant, AL, Zebbie Caldwell, Nettleton; Tammy Kimbrough (Troy), Amory; Brothers: Larry Hamlett (Cindy McClontoc), Lafayette, LA, Terry Hamlett, Hamilton, AL, Gary Hamlett, Winfield, AL and Kerry Hamlett; Grandchildren: Amber Roebuck, Nettleton and Zack McKay, Caledonia; Great-Grandchild: Janna Vaughn; 10 step-grandchildren; 3 Step-Great Grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sharon Hamlett, a niece, Melissa Hamlett.

Private services will be held by Mr. Hamlett at a later date.
