Amory- Jerry F. Chaney, 62, died Friday, June 7, 2013, at his residence. Born April 2, 1951, he was a son of the late Lee Irvin Chaney and Laverne Bullock Worley.
A lifelong resident of Monroe County, Jerry attended Amory High School and was of the Baptist faith. A very outgoing and talkative person, he never met a stranger and had numerous friends who he enjoyed visiting with. Jerry was a self employed painter and carpenter. With family being the center of his life, Jerry enjoyed being with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed riding horses, motorcycles, playing sports with his kids, playing with his dogs, and listening to country music.
He is survived by his fiance, Trudy Taylor; step father, Buddy Worley, Knoxville, TN; daughter, Laura Nantz (Tim), Parham Community; son, Jeff Chaney (Misti), Quincy; sister, Phyllis Hall, Knoxville, TN; brother, Phillip Worley (Carolyn), Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Tiffanie, Timmie, Dalton and Dayton Nantz, Brandon, Kyle, and Clayton Chaney, Chance McNeese, and 4 special grandchildren; great grandson, Easton Blake Thompson; a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 2 infant sons, and a brother, Lee J. Chaney.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, June 9, 2013, at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. Justin Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Johnny Pounds, James Meredith, Danny Burns, Ricky Johnston, Bobby Harlow, and Donnie Manasco.
