Jerry David Capps

Smithville - Jerry David Capps, 57, died on Sunday, June 3, 2012, at Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center, Amory. Born on July 7, 1954, he was a son of the late Hazel Walden and Ida Mae Humbers Capps.

Disabled at an early age, he enjoyed sitting in the rocking chair, swinging, and listening to the radio.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory with Bro. Tommy Whaley officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Tucker, James "Killer" Capps, Jr., Jason Flippo, Raymond Tucker, and Landon Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Williams and his Home Health caregivers, Caroline and Dawn.

Survivors include a sister, Brenda Joyce Salinas, Lockhart, TX; brothers, William R. and H. W. Capps of Smithville, James Capps (Earline), Amory, and Phillip Wayne Capps (Debbie), Ocean Springs; sister-in-law, Norma Fay Capps, Amory; brother-in-law, Ollie Tucker, Smithville; special niece, Brandy Flippo (Jason), Amory; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Jean Tucker, and a brother, Charles Ray Capps.

Visitation will be from 5 - 8 PM, Tuesday at the funeral home.
