West Point – Jeffrey “Jeff” Wayne Harlow, 61, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at North Mississippi Medical Center, West Point. Born on September 12, 1954, in Aberdeen, he was the son of Percy Harlow and the late Joean McCary Harlow.
At a young age, Jeff’s family traveled internationally and he attended a school for American students in Liberia Africa. His family moved back to the states and he graduated from Amory High School with the class of 1973. Jeff furthered his education at Mississippi State where he received a Bachelor of Science in Business in August of 1977. During his lifetime, he was blessed with a great family, including parents, a daughter, a son-in-law whom he considered his son, an energetic grandson, and many wonderful friends. Jeff worked many years in sales and he was a true people person who was fun to be around. Later in life, he retired from being a salesman with the Perfect Fit Glove Company. Jeff loved to worship the Lord with his fellow church members at Vibrant Church in Columbus, MS. In his free time, he enjoyed watching his grandson Harlow play baseball. He loved to listen to the blues and taking his dogs for rides. Jeff liked to travel and he could often be found running trout lines, riding jet skis, and just hanging out with friends. Jeff will be truly missed by all that knew him.
Survivors include his daughter, Joanna Harlow Ellis (David), Clay County; grandson, Harlow Ellis, Clay County; father, Percy Harlow, Amory; sister, Lois Mae Midkiff (Brett), Fulton; a host of Aunts and Uncles.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his sister, Becky Harlow.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory, with Rev. Darian Duckworth officiating. Pallbearers will be David Ellis, Ty Harrison, J. J. Calvert, Jim Stanley, Andy Carter, and Jim Helveston. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Miller, Rush Robinson, Ben Perry Green, Lee Cadden, Ken Dill, Larry Clark, Ray Gallop and Barrett Clark.
Visitation will be from 10 – 11 AM, Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory.
