Tupelo – Jeanette Palmer Nash, 78, died on Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at Sanctuary Hospice. Born on August 3, 1936, in Tupelo, she was a daughter of the late Arlie Jewette and Burma Lee Patton Palmer.
Jeanette graduated from Fulton High School in 1954. On December 26, 1954, she married Darwin Artie “Dub” Nash. After 30 years of service, she retired from South Central Bell as a long distance information operator. Jeanette was a member of Jackson Church of Christ. Moving from Jackson, she had lived in Tupelo since October. Strong, independent, giving, caring, and always helping others, she enjoyed her family and music, especially Bluegrass, Country and Gospel. She enjoyed crocheting and quilting.
Survivors include her sisters, Janell Palmer, Pelham, AL, Dorothy Kennedy (Lee), Amory, Frances Dill (Norris), West Point, Linda Doss (Henry), Amory and Joyce Cantrell (David), Saltillo; sisters-in-law, Mauvolene Trembelas, Amory and Dorothy Nash, Hatley; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Arlie Lee, Edward Trice, Charles, Jr., Boyce Wayne, and Cecil Allen Palmer.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM, Friday, August 29 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Pastor Jackie Gray officiating. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David and Anthony Camp; Carson Cook; Lee Kennedy; Michael and Tony Palmer. Honorary pallbearers will be David Dallas, Jr.
Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM, Thursday at the funeral home.
