Jean Adams

Becker – Minnie Eugenia “Jean” Adams, 82, passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, May 1, 2018. Born on September 5, 1935, in Tupelo, she was a daughter of the late Garnett Granville and Lilly Levi Millican Evans Davidson.

Jean attended school in Sulligent and Chicago, Illinois. She met Odeen Adams at Shiloh United Methodist; they fell in love and were married on October 11, 1952. Together they were blessed by God with three children. A wonderful mother and wife, Jean helped support her family through the years both at home and at work. Jean worked for 25 years for the United States Post Office until she retired in 1994.

A selfless and dedicated woman, Jean was always available to help others or just be a good listener to someone who needed a friend. A faithful devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church in Becker, Jean formally served as a Sunday School Teacher and a Choir member. She was a Christian who loved the Lord, her family and her church. She enjoyed traveling to different places with her brothers and sisters as well as going to Gospel Singings with her daughters. In her free time, she would read a good book or prepare a great meal for her family. She really liked the challenge of Sudoku and Crossword puzzles. Jean had a green thumb and loved working in her flower gardens.

As the years past, she affectionately became known as “Granny” to the grandchildren she loved so dearly. She was patient and kind with a love that never ceased. The legacy of wonderful memories she left behind will live on with her family. She will be missed greatly by all that knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Odeen W. Adams, Becker; daughters, Deborah Adams White (Bobby) and Stephanie K. Moffett (Kenny), of Becker; son, Michael W. Adams, Amory; grandchildren, Eric White, Leah Pinkerton, Meredith Moffett, Adrian Moffett, Wesley Moffett; great-grandchildren, Natalie and Gage Pinkerton; Abi Parham; Eli White; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Clara Lee and Cindy Covington.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Kelley; brothers, Charles Evans; Garnett, Robert, Paul and Jerry Davidson.

Her Funeral Service will be held at 4 PM, Friday, May 4 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory, Bro. Rodney Waycaster and Bro. Jason Green officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Eric White, Adrian Moffett, Richard Aldridge, Tim Adams, Tony Adams and Chris Kelley. Honorary will be Wesley Moffett, Gage Pinkerton, and Eli White.

Memorials are requested to be sent to St. Jude, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
