Janet Simmons

Nettleton – Janet Elaine Owens Simmons, 54, died on Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at her residence. Born on September 27, 1957, in Aberdeen, she was a daughter of the late Boyd Alba and Artvie Palmer Owens.

Janet was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Janet looked forward to spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. Passionate about animals, her pets were her hobby. She enjoyed watching television with her husband and listening to Country music.
A Private Family Gathering was held at the funeral home.

She is survived by her husband, Harris Clay Simmons, Nettleton; daughter, Nickey Pope, Shreveport, LA; son, Zach Zepeda, Nettleton; step-son, Justin Simmons, Becker; sisters, Geneva Dodds, Aberdeen, Judy Hardeman, Montana, Pat Jones, Aberdeen, Shirley Owens, Nettleton, and Betty Mills, Aberdeen; brother, Tony Owens, Saltillo; and 7 grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, James L. Pope.
