AMORY - Jan McKay Hall, 60, died on Thursday, July 7, 2016, at North MS Medical Center, Tupelo. Born on December 20, 1955, in Baldwyn, MS, she was a daughter of the late Vester Eugene and Ruby Maxine Baxter McKay.
Jan was a graduate of Baldwyn High School, Class of 1973, and was a talented musician in High School. She went on and furthered her education at Ole Miss and graduated in 1977, graduating Summa Cum Laude. She obtained her Masters in Speech Pathology and Communicative Disorders from Ole Miss. She had a strong work ethic and was a high achieving woman. She was the District Manager at Aegis Therapy, where she was awarded District Manager of the Year for the Southeast Division in 2001. Currently, she was a PRN for Aurora Health and Rehab in Columbus, MS.
During her lifetime, she was blessed with two children of whom she loved and she was very proud. She loved being with her entire family, especially her four grandchildren. Jan enjoyed watching her son, Will, play football and coach his team. Jan was always her happiest and most comfortable when she was with her best friend and daughter, Julianne. She also had a close bond with her brother and sister, and they often talked and solved all of life’s problems. She was a giver, very self-less and loved to host gatherings and feed folks. She enjoyed being outdoors in the sun, going to the beach, and making people laugh. Jan would do anything for anyone, including taking care of loved ones who were in the hospital. She loved the overall feeling of warmth at Christmas time.
Survivors include her daughter, Julianne Wright (Brooks), Amory; son , Will Hall(Rebecca), Carrollton, GA; sister, Connie Gardner, Baldwyn; brother, Larry McKay (Roberta), Baldwyn; grandchildren, Tripp Hall, Pete Hall, Harrison & Hayden Wright; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a nephew, Wesley McKay; brother-in-law, Bro. Lee Gardner.
Her Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, July 9, 2016, at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory, with Bro. Drew Gardner officiating. Burial will follow in Prentiss Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Ben Gardner, Luke Gardner, Brooks Wright, Jason McKay, Rory Thornton, and Ted Trollinger.
Visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 on Friday, July 8 at the funeral home.
