Jan Poe Carr

Bartlett - Jan Poe Carr, 61, died on Friday, January 25, 2013, at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, TN. Born on June 28, 1951, in Amory, she was a daughter of Clara Doris Poe Burroughs and the late Tom Poe.

Jan was a graduate of Amory High School, Class of 1969. She attended Itawamba Junior College and Belhaven University, Jackson, MS. Jan honorably served in the US Army. Possessing a vibrant spirit, she loved life and cherished time with all of her family. A homemaker, Jan enjoyed cooking, baking, flower and herb gardening. She looked forward to going to antique sales with her husband, collecting old records and antique furniture. While living in Amory, she attended Central Grove Baptist Church.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, February 2, 2013, at Bartlett Funeral Home, 5803 Stage Rd., Bartlett, TN 38134.

Visitation will be from Noon until the service hour at the funeral home.

She is survived by her husband, Bob Carr, Bartlett, TN; mother, Clara Doris Poe Burroughs, Columbus; daughter, Miranda McKitchen, Bartlett, TN; granddaughter, Maleiya McKitchen, Bartlett, TN; sister, Donna Clement, Frankfort, KY; brother, Tommy Poe, Amory; and nephew, Clay Clement, Richmond, KY, niece Krysti Poe, Amory, and nephew, Thomas Poe, Tampa, FL.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Vance Burroughs.

Memorials may be given to a charity of choice.
