James "Tractor" Sanderson

Smithville- James L. “Tractor” Sanderson, 64, died on Saturday, November 27, 2010, at NMMC, Tupelo. Born on August 17, 1946, in Amory, he was a son of the late Largus O’Connor and Alice Ruth Ashcraft Sanderson.
Mr. Sanderson was a graduate of Hatley High School. After graduation, he served in the Army National Guard for 8 years. For nearly 35 years, Mr. Sanderson worked as a carman for BNSF, formerly Frisco Railroad. He was a member of New Bethel United Methodist Church. A very caring and stern man, God and his family were most important to him. Mr. Sanderson enjoyed listening to Country music, cooking in his shop, watching television, camping, fishing, traveling and just going for a ride in his truck.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Barbara Davis Sanderson, Smithville; sons, Michael (Melinda) Sanderson, Smithville, Mitch (Anita) Brown, Brewer, and Matt Brown, Smithville; sisters, Faye (Bennie) Anderson, Woodland and Betty Hathcock, Hatley; grandchildren, Brock Brown, Jessica Kimbrell, Nicholas, Turner and Savana Sanderson, Kristin (Duwaine) Brown and Dustin Jacobs; great-grandchildren, Emily and Colie Kimbrell and Dalton Brown; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-son, Mark Brown and a brother, Bobby Sanderson.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10 AM, Monday at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Smithville with Bro. Charles Coggin officiating. Burial will follow in Keyes Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his sons and grandsons.
Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM, Sunday at the funeral home in Smithville.
