Amory – James Edwin Todd, 72, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2014, at Gilmore Memorial RMC. Born on November 2, 1942, in Nettleton, he was a son of the late Rufus Gordon and Frances Geneva Owings Todd.
James attended Nettleton schools and graduated from Amory High School in 1960. On November 15, 1963, he married Lorette Wooten. A self-employed electrician, James had worked at Ausbon Supply in sales and Sam Stevens Motors and Tupelo Auto Sales as Parts Manager. A member of Bigbee Baptist Church, he loved his church family and attending church activities. With his life guided by his love for family, James looked forward to attending his grandchildren’s functions. A great, loving and generous father with a giving heart, he enjoyed retirement, camping, fishing, playing golf and Gospel music.
Survivors include his wife, Lorette Todd, Amory; daughter, Karen Todd Massey (Oscar), Golden, AL; sons, Rodney Todd (Sherry Rea), Amory, Chad Todd, Amory, and Barry Todd, Nettleton; sisters, Doris Todd Shackelford, Amory and Mary Frances Todd East, Evansville, IN; brothers, Larry Todd (Bessy), Nettleton, Lynn Todd (Peggy), Bigbee, and Mike Todd (Charlotte), Amory; grandchildren, Lakin and Raven Wigginton; Skyler Wigginton Flippo; Corey and Clay Todd; John-Michael and Chastity Cole; Bryson Wigginton; Zoe Massey; Chloe, Bree, T. J., Lidia, Abbey, and Riley Todd; great-grandchildren, Kobi Hamilton, Haven Sloan, Bella Massey, Easton Bray and Hasten Stasch; 24 nieces and nephews; special friends, Milton Spees and Wayne Hamric; and numerous friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Emmit and Valley Hester Todd; and twin sister, Joan Todd Edwards.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 PM, Sunday, December 14 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory with Bro. Mike Todd and Bro. Justin Haynes officiating. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Clay and Corey Todd; John-Michael Cole, Bryson Wigginton, Milton Spees, Wayne Hamric and T. J. Todd.
Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM, Saturday at the funeral home.
