James Albert Thompson

Alexandria, Va- James Albert Thompson, 68, died Saturday, April 12, 2014 at his residence. Born September 22, 1945 in Monroe County, MS he was a son of James Burdine and Tarlene Walls Thompson.

A 1963 graduate of Amory High School, he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Statistics and Data Processing from Mississippi State University. He honorably served his country in the United States Army, being stationed in Okinawa, Japan. Upon returning stateside, he worked at the Pentagon until 1971 when he went to work at HUD, retiring in 2013 from Ginnie Mae. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Alexandria.

He is survived by his mother, Tarlene Thompson, Amory; sister, Dianne Inmon (Jack), Amory; nieces, Amy Patterson (Josh), Hernando and Anna Inmon, New Orleans; grea niece, Sophie Patterson; great nephew, Andrew Patterson.

He is preceded in death by his father, James Burdine Thompson.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1pm, Thursday, April 17, 2014 at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. Jack Inmon officiating. Burial will follow at Midway Cemetery in Vardaman.

Visitation will be prior to the service on Thursday from 11:30 am- 12:45pm.
