Sipsey Fork- James Earl McCool, 64, died Sunday, July 14, 2013 at his residence. Born July 5, 1949 in Sulligent, Al, he was a son of Eunice Black McCool and the late William Walker McCool. He married Brenda Adams on July 24, 1968.
James attended Greenwood Springs Elementary School, was a graduate of Hatley High School Class of 1967 and was of the Baptist faith. He retired as a supervisor from Amory Garment with 36 years of service. James loved and lived life to the fullest, never meeting a stranger, often talking about the old times with family and friends. He loved his family deeply, was a hard worker, and enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, and collecting knives.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 45 years, Brenda McCool; mother, Eunice Black McCool; daughters, Jennifer Chambers (Jeff), Saltillo, Frances Taylor (Anthony Moore), Sulligent, Christie Tramel (Jason), Splunge; sons, James Andrew “Andy” McCool (Lea), Baldwyn; brother, Gary Wayne McCool (Angie), Sipsey Fork; grandchildren, Blake, Chase and Reagan Chambers, Kayla and Codi Taylor, Quint and Madison Butler, Skyler, Braxton, Ashley, Braden, and Gabe McCool; special friends, Tommy and Jennifer Taylor; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Dale Ford and Bro. Jeff Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Ray Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Russell Mayes, Barney Vann, Donald King, Greg Norton, Johnny Boover, Billy King, Michael Tate, Wayne Faulkner and Tommy Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be the Hatley High School Class of 1967.
Visitation will be on Tuesday evening at the funeral home from 5 PM- 8PM.
