James Jordan

James Robert “Bobby” Jordan passed away peacefully at his home in Brandon, MS, at the age of 78, on Monday, March 3, 2025. Bobby was born in Aberdeen, MS, on March 27, 1946, to Mary Alexander and Charles Jordan. He and his two sisters, Rita and Anne, shared a strong bond throughout his life. After graduating from Aberdeen High School, Bobby attended the University of Mississippi, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. On January 23, 1971, Bobby married his sweetheart, Faye Jordan, of Becker, MS. Together, they raised two sons, Blake and Foster, first in Becker, MS, and later in Amory, MS. Bobby enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially at his fish camp in Becker, MS, and watching Ole Miss sports. He cherished his family and his longtime friendships with Bill Turner and the late Ricky McShane. He supported his family through a long career in the manufacturing and construction industries. Additionally, Bobby proudly served in the MS National Guard and the Army Reserve for a combined total of six years. Later in life, Bobby and Faye moved to Brandon, MS, to be closer to their two sons and their respective families.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Faye Jordan of Brandon, MS; his son, Blake Jordan of Brandon, MS (significant other, Katy Dobbs of Ridgeland, MS), and his children, Devon Dykes and Parker Jordan; his son, Foster Jordan (Katherine), and their children, Hattie and Olivia Jordan of Gluckstadt, MS; his sisters, Rita Long (Jim) of Dallas, TX, and Anne Giada (Joe) of Mobile, AL; many nieces and nephews; and his “daughter-in-love,” Laura McShane of Oxford, MS.
