Jerry Butler

James Gerald “Jerry” Butler was born November 20, 1953 in Houston, TX, to the late James A. Butler and Mattie Hollingsworth Butler. Jerry worked in industrial maintenance as an electrician most of his life. He loved fishing and was a jokester and always made everyone around him laugh. Jerry is preceded in death by his daughter, Jan Cotton, his parents, and his brothers; Bill Butler, Roger Butler, Charlie Butler, Eddie Butler, and Ronald Werner. 

Jerry is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Bessie Butler, and daughters Tracy Stanfield (George Winter) and Gail Chaney, his four grandchildren; Vae Tribble (Brian), Ethan Chaney (Kaylin Belue), Stephen Tracey (Kaycie), and Garrett Tracey, his seven great-grandchildren; his brothers, Donald (Gwen) Werner, Pete (April) Floyd, and Billy Floyd; and sisters, Mary Mayne, Cassandra Teem, Donna (Roger) Coleman, Beth Skelton, and Susan Rivers. 

A Memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
