Amory – James Ervin Foster, 58, passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2015, at his residence. Born on January 30, 1957, in Houston, MS, he was a son of the late Ervin Howl and Helen Hawkins Foster.
James was a graduate of Hatley High School, Class of 1976. He joined the US Army National Guard in 1979 and received his honorable discharge in 1985. James was an upholsterer in the furniture industry, working at PeopLounger and Kingsport. He was of the Pentecostal faith. A wonderful dad, James treasured being with his family and especially spoiling his grandchildren. A Country music fan, Hank Williams, Sr., was his favorite. James enjoyed playing cards, grabblin, and hunting. He always looked forward to Fall as he loved watching football.
Survivors include his daughters, Tina King (Jeffrey), Amory, Tasha Herring, Wren, and Jamie Foster, Amory; sisters, Patricia Stanford (Kenny), Aberdeen, Dorothy Cummings (Ernie), Amory, Carolyn Knight, Aberdeen; brothers, Paul Foster (Shirley), Aberdeen, Steve Foster (Nancy), Amory, and Bobby Foster, Aberdeen; grandchildren, Rylie, Ragan, and Aidan King; Cortlin Herring; Peyton and Carter McAnally; a host nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Ebo Head and Sissy Parrish; brother, Shane Foster; and son-in-law, Nicholas Herring.
His Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, December 16, 2015, at Bethel Apostolic Church, Amory, with Pastor Stanley Blaylock officiating. Burial will follow in Haughton Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Michael, Bobby, Chris, Andy, Walter, Charles, and Dewayne Foster; Timothy Parish; Cortlin Herring; Aiden King; Keith Reynolds; Terry Harlow; Bobby and Tony Head; and Nathan Kilgo.
Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM, Tuesday, at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory.
