James “Dino” Allen Ziteila

Aberdeen – James “Dino” Allen Ziteila, 56, died on April 8, 2023, at Monroe Regional Hospital in Aberdeen, MS. He was born on June 22, 1966, to the late James Ziteila and Sandy Felsing Whitlock.

Growing up, James lived in Monroe County and graduated from Amory High School. He was known to many as “Dino” and he was a character. His career was in the transportation industry, where he was a long distance truck driver for Red Reeves. During his lifetime, he traveled across all of the great United States. He ensured that America kept going, getting the supplies there on time. Occasionally, his traveling partner was his best friend and soul mate, Patricia Sloan. They were married on November 25, 1999 and were blessed with a wonderful family. Dino loved helping raise his grandchildren and his great-grandson Legend held a special place in his heart.

In addition to spending time with his wife, grandchildren and his great-grandson, Dino liked to hang out with good friends. Some of his closest friends were Jimmy Livingston, Mike Brasfield, Corey Fines and Lee Minor. They made many great memories through the years which will be cherished forever. Dino also enjoyed listening to Country music and being outdoors while he was fishing.

Dino was one of a kind and will be missed so much by his family and friends. The roads won’t be the same without him traveling down them. Until we meet again Dino.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Sloan, Aberdeen; sister, Dawn Whitlock Thompson (Chad), Amory; step-son, Armando Cope, Aberdeen; grandchildren, Jaliyah, Jokeby, Johanna, Jenesis, and Jaedyn; great- grandson, Legend; mother-in-law, Jean Sims, Aberdeen; sister-in-law, Earnestine Westmoreland (Charles); brother-in-law, Willie Nabors, Aberdeen; niece, Brooklyn; nephew, Jacob.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Bonita Cope.
