Jacob “Jake” Alexander Bowen

Amory— Jacob “Jake” Alexander Bowen, 26, passed away on Friday, November 9. 2018 in Aberdeen, MS. He was born in Amory, MS on June 9, 1992 to Aimee Allison Bowen Vintson and Stanley Doss.

Jake graduated from Oak Hill Academy with the Class of 2010 and later attended Ole Miss and ICC. He was Christian and he wholeheartedly believed in God and His saving power. Jake was presently employed at The Amory Flower Shop where he handled all the pressing demands of an everyday business.

All who got to know Jake, learned to love him quickly as he had a very kind soul. He was funny and always saw the good in every situation. He always put others first and was very polite and not outspoken. Some of his friends would describe him as a gentle giant, who was big in stature yet had a very humble spirit. Family meant the most to him and he cherished the time he got to spend with them. He especially enjoyed eating and hanging out on the weekends with his cousin Lauren. In his free time, Jake loved to listen to his music and watch sports on tv as well as play on-line video games.

Jake is survived by his grandmother, Sandra Spears, Amory; mother, Aimee Allison Bowen Vintson, New Hampshire; father, Stanley Doss, Aberdeen; sister, Ali Schrock, Tupelo; aunts, Teka Funderburk (Ricky), Wren, Lisa Shaman (Chris), Jackson, MS; cousins, Leah Street (Foster), Lauren Woods (Cody); Ben, Andrew, John, and Carrie Beth Shaman; Aubrey Street; and Connor Woods.

He was preceded in death by his “Paw Paw”, Paul Spears.
A funeral service will be held at 3 PM Saturday, November 17, 2018 at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory.

Visitation for family and friends will be Saturday from 2PM until the service hour on Saturday at the funeral home.
