Amory - Jackie Neal Burdine, 74, died on Friday, August 23, 2013 at the Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center in Amory. Born December 5, 1938 in the Carolina Community, he was the son of the late Elvie and Gladys Neal Burdine.
He was a graduate of Amory High School and he married Betty Wardlaw. After graduation, he worked for Pullman Couch in Amory as a foreman and before his retirement, he was plant manager for Amwood Products. He attended Hatley Primitive Baptist Church and he enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also enjoyed fishing and gardening and his dog, Annie.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 2 p.m. on Monday, August 26, 2013 at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Bro. Wes White and Elder Tim Cunningham officiating. Burial will be in the Haughton Memorial Park.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Burdine of Amory; one daughter, Teresa Snow (Johnny) of Smithville; one daughter-in-law Teresa Howell Burdine of Amory; one son, Greg Burdine of Amory; 6 grandchildren, Brandy Burnette, Beth Long (Jamie), Brittany Burdine, Taylor Burdine, John Snow (Amy), and Carrie Anderson (TJ); 5 great grandchildren, Gracie Beth Long, Audrie Long, Jaxton Burdine, Ashtyn Hensley, and Marley Kate Snow; numerous nephews and nieces; and a host of brothers and sisters by marriage.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a grandson, Michael Schrock.
Pallbearers will be Todd Finely, Mike Fowlkes, Robert Wardlaw, Ricky Finley, Frank Smith, Jr., Bryan Smith, and Craig Wardlaw. Honorary pallbearers will be Ira Kennedy, Don Fowler, Richard Neal, Thomas Greer, and Don Leech.
Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. on Sunday evening and will continue until service time on Monday.
