Amory – Ismay C. Myatt Harrison, 95, died May 22, 2011 at The Plantation in Fulton. A native of Moorehead MS she was born on June 28, 1915 to the late Benjamin Rufus and Carloba Walls Myatt.
Ismay was a graduate of Moorehead High School and attended George Washington University. She married Charles A Harrison in 1935, who preceded her in death in 1982. She was a retired accountant working for Post Engineers in Ft Belvoir VA and Charlie Upton Company and upon returning to Mississippi she worked at Columbus Air Force Base. After her retirement she worked at Wal-Mart as a greeter and volunteered at the Amory Regional Museum. Mrs. Harrison was a member of Turon United Methodist Church. She had an adopted granddaughter, A.J. which she loved very much and always looked forward to every visit with her. Sharneka, Sherry were her hospice caregivers and Jean and Lois were her closest friends who brought happiness in her later years by simply listening to her and being by her side. Ismay enjoyed all types of music.
She is survived by her son, Walter O Myatt (Ann) of Smithville; her grandchildren, Corey Gray, Casey Gray, Alyssa Gray; great-grandchildren, Laynie Gray, Kyland Gray and Austin Reems. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A Harrison and grandson, Rickey Lynn Myatt.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2pm, Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Minister Steve Shappley officiating. Burial will follow in Turon Community Cemetery in Itawamba County. Pallbearers will be Corey and Casey Gray, Jerry Harris, Mike Cox and Cecil Harris.
Visitation will continue Tuesday until time for the service to begin.
