Irene C Gregory

Smithville – Irene C Gregory, 90, of Smithville, MS entered into her heavenly home on November 23, 2022 with her family by her side. She was born on December 27, 1931 in Smithville, MS.

It was in Smithville where she grew up and married Fred Gregory. They moved to Alabama and lived there for 38 years. Irene was a wonderful homemaker and a wonderful cook. Her specialty was her peas, fried chicken, carrot cake, and her home was known as Irene’s Diner to all who knew her.

She and Fred moved back to Smithville to call it their home, after he retired. They shared many wonderful years together. She will be dearly missed.

Irene is survived by her sons, Rick Gregory (Sheila) and Ronnie Gregory (Charlotte); 4 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; a sister; a sister-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Fred Gregory; a sister, Madine Webb; three brothers, Charles, Willard and Roy Cummings.

Her funeral service will be at 1:00 PM, on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at the Smithville Chapel of E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, in Smithville with Bro. John Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Pearce Chapel Cemetery in Smithville with Pallbearers being family members.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday in Smithville from 12:00 pm until the service hour.
