Inez Stephens Minga, 91, died on Saturday, September 14, 2013. Born October 3, 1921, she was a daughter of Lucian and Bettie Byrd Stephens and was married to Russell Clifton Minga in 1950. She was a graduate of Smithville Schools and she attended Business College in Memphis. Before her retirement she worked at National Bank of Commerce in Memphis later becoming a caregiver for her brothers and sisters. Known as a generous, caring, and compassionate lady, she was a woman of faith and was a member of the Freedom Baptist Church. Her hobbies included bird watching, art, and drawing with chalk. She was a member of the Road Runners Travel group.
A Celebration of Life service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Bro. Scott George and Bro. Guy Parker officiating. Burial will be in the Haughton Memorial Park.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda Minga Tisdale (Thomas) of Amory; niece, Esther Stephens of Smithville; niece Wanda Parker (Guy) of Amory; nephew, Victor Stephens (Bobbie) of Caledonia; and host of other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 3 sisters; and 4 brothers.
Pallbearers will be Chris Vaughn and other family and friends.
Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday and will continue until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
