Carolina – Ima Gene “Polly” Wiygul, 95, died on Tuesday, August 28, 2012, at Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center. Born on February 3, 1917, in Hatley, she was a daughter of the late John and Nilie Wright Ausborn. She married Gratchard F. Wiygul in 1931.
Mrs. Wiygul grew up in Hatley and attended Hatley School. Living most of her life in the Carolina
Community, she was a member of Carolina Methodist Church. She was a very kind hearted and loving lady. She retired from Amory Garment as a seamstress. Loving to read her Bible, Mrs. Wiygul was a devout Christian lady, who cherished time spent with her family, especially cooking for them during the holidays. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and working in her flower gardens.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Rene White (Charles), Carolina, Kyle Wiygul (Terry), Caledonia, and Donna Martin (Jay), Aberdeen; great grandchildren, Chris White (Amanda), Ben and Skipper White, Chance and Page Wiygul, Allen Martin (Karen); great great grandchildren, Hunter, Kobe, and Addy White, Aiden Wiygul, and Gabriella Reese Martin.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her son, Hansel W. Wiygul, and her brothers and sisters.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3pm on Saturday, September 1, at Carolina Methodist Church with Bro. Mike Hunter and Bro. Allen Martin officiating. Pallbearers will be Chris, Ben, and Skipper White, Chance and Page Wiygul, Allen Martin, and Michael Sullivan. Honorary pallbearers will be Hunter, Kobe, and Addy White, Aiden Wiygul and Gabby Martin.
Visitation will be Friday, August 31, from 5-8pm, at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory. Mrs. Wiygul will lie in state at the church on Saturday, from 2pm until service time at 3pm.
