Houston Harold Strawhorn Jr.

Hamilton — Houston Harold Strawhorn, Jr., 74, entered his heavenly home on June 13, 2019. He was born in Chickasaw County, MS on June 28, 1944, he was a son of the late Houston Harold Strawhorn, Sr. and Lena Mae Gray.

Harold attended school in Amory. He married the love of his life, Rose Strawhorn and he was blessed, by God, with boys. He was a family man who provided daily by working at Penthouse Manufacturing as well as Allen White Manufacturing. His family would tell you they were blessed to have such a wonderful father figure in their lives.

He loved the Lord and was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Smithville. Throughout life, the thing he enjoyed most was spending time with his family and fellow church members. He loved to cut up and have fun yet he would get serious if family became the center of the discussion. He always listened intently to folks and had an answer for anything.

Harold was an outdoorsman who loved to fish and occasionally hunt. When his health declined, he loved to read Louis L’Amour Western Novels and spend precious time with family. A true fighter, he went to dialysis where he met his best friend, Billy Wayne Smith. Together they prayed for guidance and they solved most of the world’s problems. His wife, sons, and family have total peace knowing that he is united with Christ. They will cherish the memories he gave them forever.
Harold is survived by his wife, Rose, Hamilton; sons, James Strawhorn (Crystal), Wren, Mickey Strawhorn (Sandy), Nettleton, Chris Strawhorn, Hamilton, Scott Strawhorn, Hamilton; sister, Eva Hatcher, Wren; grandchildren, Miranda Denton (Corey), Hayle Strawhorn, Kayla Strawhorn, James Strawhorn, Jr, Ashley Clayton (Steven), Alisha Buckner (Paul), Chelse Allen (Drake); great-grandchildren, Evelyn Denton, Maislynn Denton, Ayden Clayton, Conner Buckner, Elizabeth Buckner, Brently Allen, and Chezley Allen.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Houston Wade Strawhorn and sisters, Doris Coggin and Sue Adams.

His funeral service will be held Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 4PM, at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Bro. Johnny Hughes officiating.
