Bethlehem – Hilbert Travis Hathcock, 68, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center. Born on September 1, 1944, in Monroe County, he was a son of the late Braxton G. and Mattie Silas Hathcock.

Hilbert was a graduate of Smithville High School. Working as a self-employed truck driver for 15 years, he later worked for D & C Trucking and Eskridge Trucking. A man of faith, Hilbert was a member of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church. He was a Past Master Mason with Splunge Masonic Lodge #602. A devoted, kind, loving, and caring father who was always helping others, Hilbert enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren; mules and wagons; fishing; squirrel hunting; and Old Country and Gospel music.

He is survived by his wife, Donna S. Hathcock, Greenwood Springs; daughters, Renee Mixon (Jonathon), Detroit, AL, and Renetta Bennett (Chad), Fulton; sons, Travis Hathcock (Missy), Sulligent, AL, Terry Hathcock (Tammy), Greenwood Springs, Tony Hathcock (Tammy), Detroit, AL, and Timmy “Bull” Hathcock, Detroit, AL; grandchildren, Eric Stanford (Lindy), Brian Scott (Cara), Craig Hathcock, Austin Hathcock, Kelsie Kirkman (Daniel), Jessica Wiginton (Cody), Lashae Pritchett (Graham), Makayla Hathcock, Zoie Hathcock, Megan Hathcock, Harlee Bennett, Allie Bennett, Alex Bennett, Brandon Smith (Kim), Derrick Cooper (Deanna), Rocky Sides, Aaron Sides, and Alex Sides; great-grandchildren, Braylie Pritchett; Hadley Reece Canterburry; Jayden Cooper and Natalee Gresslin; Jon Johnson; MaKayla Johnson; McKenzie Gresslin; Brian, Adrian, and Easton Smith; and Jaxon Scott; sister, Iva Nell West, Greenwood Springs; brothers, Rabon Hathcock, Detroit, AL, Clinton Hathcock and Wilburn Hathcock, of Greenwood Springs; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by and his first wife and mother of his children, Linda Gayle Hathcock, and a niece, Angie Smith.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 PM, Thursday, June 6 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. B. J. Mills and Bro. Mike Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Craig Hathcock, Austin Hathcock, Brian Scott, Eric Stanford, Derrick Cooper, Brandon Smith, Tony Scott, Shane Murray, and Lance Murray. Honorary pallbearers will be Pete Welch, Larry Knight, Reggie Jones, Wayne Myers, Brett Ballard, Paul Summerford, Jonathan Jones, and Matt Jones.

Visitation will be from Noon until the service hour on Thursday at the funeral home.
