Hershel Presley

Hershel R. Presley, 71, passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at North Mississippi Medical Center. Born on August 15, 1945, in Marks, Mississippi, he was a son of the late Hershel Eugene Presley and Metrie Magalene Jones Presley.

He attended Nettleton Schools. Hershel married Wanda Winchester Presley on February 2, 2002. He was a member of the Church of God.

At a young age, he worked milking cows at the dairy barn. Hershel chose trucking driving as an occupation; however, he also liked to do small engine repairs. He loved to fish and play his guitar. His favorite pastime was to watch wrestling on television.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters: Marie Roberson, Marion Glanette Presley, and Maxine Estes; Brothers, Marion Eugene Presley and Tippy Odie Mae Smith.

Hershel is survived by his wife: Wanda Presley; Daughters, Metric K. Moody, Enid, MS, Cindy Calder, Enid, MS; sons, Randy Presley (Betty), Smithville, Michael Presley (Terri), Enid, MS, Randy Turner, Enid, MS; Sisters: Kay Edge (Roy), Mantachie, Carolyn Clayton (Jerald) Nettleton, Peggy Earnest, Fulton, Etta Charlene Presley, Verona, Betty Cooper (Larry), Verona; brothers: John Presley, Smithville, Elvis Presley, Smithville and Jeffrey Presley, Mantachie; 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Hershel Presley will be at 3:00 PM, Thursday, May 25, 2017 at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Shane Ray officiating. Burial will be at Jones Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Albert Young, Larry Presley, Randy Presley, Daniel Pearson, Brian Pearson and Gerald Clayton

Visitation for Mr. Presley will be on Thursday, May 25 from 1:30 PM – 2:45 PM.
