Mantachie – Herbert J. Smith, 81, died on Sunday, December 26, 2010, at Countrywood Plantation, Mantachie.
A native of Farmington, Iowa, Mr. Smith had lived in Amory from 1990 until moving to Mantachie in 2002. He was of the Methodist faith and enjoyed traveling.
He is survived by two step-sons, Thomas (Hattie Mae) Rossi, Amory and Roger L. (Deloris) Rossi, Arizona; a sister; two brothers; 11 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Arveda Febea Forquer Smith on September 25, 2003.
A funeral service will be held later in the week at Vigen Memorial Home, Kahoka, MO.
