Wren - Helen Lucille Stafford, 77, passed away on Friday, March 16, 2018, at her residence. Born on May 8, 1940, in Monroe County, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth and Ruth Middleton Smith.

Helen attended Amory High School. She married the love-of-her-life, Paul Stafford. Together, they were blessed with two daughters and two sons. As a Christian, she loved her Lord and Savior. Possessing a great spirit, Helen was a very generous person and had a huge heart for people.

A devoted wife and mother, she was a homemaker and an excellent cook. Her children were her pride-and-joy. Helen loved her grandchildren and cherished their visits. Having a green thumb, she enjoyed being outside working in her garden. Helen enjoyed listening to Country music. She leaves a wonderful legacy to her family and will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her daughters, Diane Aldridge (Tim), New Albany, and Debra Johannsen (Jeff), Grayslake, IL; son, Michael Stafford, Beach Park, IL; sisters, Reather Thames, Wren; Jewel Kyle, Amory; Mavis Jones, Wren; Francis Wright, Becker; Geneva Pierson, Columbus; Sarah Richey, Tupelo; brother, Harlon Smith, Wren; grandchildren, Katelyn Aldridge, Leyton Johannsen, Alexandra Stafford, Isabella Stafford; many nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Paul Stafford; son, David Stafford; sister, Eunice Coggins; brothers, Ariol "Sonny" Smith and Earl Robert Smith.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
