Born on February 15, 1934, in Lamar County, AL, she was a daughter of the late Bruce and Annie Corbell West.Mrs. Franklin attended Lackey Schools and graduated from Nettleton High School, Class of 1952. She attended Business College in Jackson. Retiring in 1996, she worked as a seamstress with Seminole Garment and South Monroe Sportswear. Mrs. Franklin was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. A one-of-a-kind mother who was very caring and loving, she cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren. Always seeing the best in everyone, she was a very giving person. Mrs. Franklin enjoyed Gospel music, especially The Gaithers; watching Days of Our Lives; and cooking.She is survived by her daughters, Teresa Ann Hutchins and Patricia F. Raines (Phillip), of Aberdeen; sons, David Wayne Hutchins and Joseph Boyd Franklin (Rona), of Aberdeen; sisters, Mary Ann Welch (Aaron) and Margaret Elway, of Lackey; brother, James Bruce West (Sarah), Hamilton; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie “I. B.” Franklin; daughter, Sheila Hutchins Stanford; son, Jackie Houston Williams; granddaughter, Jennifer Nicole Stanford; and a great-grandson.A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM, Friday, December 9 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Mac Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Howell Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dwayne and Terry Welch, Mike Sanders, Jason Munn, Kevin Stanford, and Allen Franklin.Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM, Thursday at the funeral home.Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society, c/o Beth May, PO Box 269, Amory, 38821 or to the American Heart Assn., 1101 Northchase Pkwy., Marietta, GA 30067.Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at eepicklefuneralhome.com.
