Amory – Helen Marie DeMoss, 82, passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2015, at her residence. Born on September 10, 1932, in Amory, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Eldridge and Lora Lee Pickle Hughes.
She was a graduate of Smithville High School, Class of 1949. After to moving to Zion, IL, Ms. DeMoss retired from American Motors in Kenosha, WI. Choosing to stay busy after retiring, her hobbies included growing vegetables and flower gardening. This slowly blossomed as the demand from neighbors and friends grew. As a result, her gardening grew into an established greenhouse allowing her to share her passion with people over several states. She was a member of Winthrop Harbor Missionary Baptist Church. Independent, hard-working, and having a loving heart, she was passionate about her family and friends and helping others. Ms. DeMoss enjoyed sewing, old Hymns and canning.
Survived by her daughters, Linda Faro (Dan), Plymouth, IN, and Donna Witt, Gainesville, FL; grandchildren, Ryan DeMoss, Tiffany Witt, and Christopher Faro; great-grandchildren, Amanda Martinez, Joshua Faro, Brandon Faro, Joseph Faro, Cheyenne Faro, Lydia Faro, and Luke Faro; great-grandchildren, Madison Martinez, Kaliegh Martinez and Gavin Faro; nephew and niece, Jim Armstrong and Sherry Turner; special friends, Linda Lane, Betty Saylors, Robbie Hurley, Jean Kyle, and Donald Plunkett.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Bob Hurley, sister, Inez Camp, and grandsons, Jason Faro and Corey Hurley.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, February 3, 2015, at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory with Bro. Danny Burks officiating.
Visitation will be from 12:30 – 1:50 PM, Tuesday at the funeral home.
