Greenwood Springs – Hazel A. Waldrop, 84, died on Saturday, September 20, 2014, at her residence. Born on June 6, 1930, in Quincy, she was a daughter of the late Walter Riley and Willard Wise Carter.
Mrs. Waldrop was a graduate of Greenwood Springs, Class of 1948. On November 25, 1950, she married Wilton Waldrop. A homemaker, she was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church. She enjoyed her family, cooking out, eating, listening to her daughter play the piano and shopping.
Survivors include her daughter, Lora Jean Waldrop, Greenwood Springs; sister, Mary Carter Simmons, New Orleans; a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, September 21 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Dale Ford officiating. Burial will follow in Crenshaw Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joe, Dennis, Ryan, Dustin and Nicholas Waldrop.; Grant Adams. Honorary pallbearers will be Guy Dillard, Wayne Faulkner, James Whitlock, and David Boozer.
Visitation will be from Noon – 1:50 PM, Sunday at the funeral home.
