Hattie Lou "Lucy" Payne Thrasher

Tupelo – Hattie Lou “Lucy” Thrasher , 55, died on Monday, January 4, 2016, at North MS Medical Center. Born on August 12, 1960, in Tupelo, she was the daughter of the late John Howard and Delma Lee Ellis Payne.

Lucy attended school in Mooreville. She married the love of her life, Michael Joe Thrasher. She worked as a homemaker. When she was younger, she was active in the Salvation Army Church. Family meant the most to her in her life. She enjoyed drinking Mt. Dew, being with friends and family and spending time with her dogs, especially “Peanut”. She was stubborn woman who had a big heart and a great sense of humor. Lucy liked listening to Gospel music and watching movies.

Survivors include her sister, Elizabeth Coleman; brothers, Johnny Payne, Auburn; David, Kenny and Joseph Payne, all of Skyline; Pat Payne (Konnie), Belden; special friends, Janice, Patty, Gloria, and Stella; Roger and Christopher Lee.

In addition to her parents and husband, Michael, she was preceded in death by a sister, Sherry C. Payne and a brother-in-law.

A Gathering of family and friends will be held from 5 – 8 PM, Thursday, January 7 at 1st Baptist Church, Plantersville.
