Amory – Harvey Mitchell West, 59, passed away on Monday,March 14, 2016, at his residence. Born on October 13, 1956, in St. Louis, Missouri, he was the son of the late Harvey Trenton and Helen Davis West.
Harvey attended Amory High School. On August 20, 1976, he married his soulmate Tessie Pickle West and together they had one son. He was a talented man who sang in two different southern gospel groups, “Living Proof” and “Good News Travelers”. He was a member of the Pentecost church and he was guided by his belief in Jesus and his walk of faith. He loved being around his family and friends and watching Gunsmoke and The Three Stooges. Harvey enjoyed hunting, fishing, playstation video gaming, and playing the guitar. Harvey was blessed with many friends, and some of his closest friends were Randell Presley, Doug Merchant, Herman West, George West, Bradley Easter, Carroll Parker, Jessie West, and Jessie Pickle. Harvey will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife and best friend, Tessie; son, Andrew Mitchell West (Bridgette), Amory; sisters, Janie Merrell (Roland), Shannon, Tammy Allen (Sam), Amory, Sherry White (Jody), Aberdeen, Brenda Guyton (John), Amory; brothers, Kenneth West (Rita), Aberdeen, Keith West (Nancy), Nettleton; step-sisters, Joyce Lossie and Nora Duke, Prom, OK; special friends who were like children to him, Kayla Gray (Andy), Douglas Parker (Jennie); friends who were like grandchildren to him, Adrinna, Chelsey, and Rachel Gray; Breanna, Matthew, and Payton Parker; a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Catt, Debra Young, Linda Haywood, Rebecca West, Bonnie West; brothers, Darren West and Dewayne West.
His Fuenral Service will be held at 2 PM, Friday, March 18, 2016, at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. John Blackwell, Bro. Shana Ray, and Bro. Jerry Allen officiating. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Humbers, Aaron West, Nathan Merrell, Corey Merrell, Steven young, James Holloway, and Michael Holloway.
Visitation will be from 12 – 1:50 PM, Friday, March 18, 2016, at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home.
