Harrel Caradine Fooshee

Amory – Harrel Caradine Fooshee, 72, died on Thursday, November 13, 2014, at his residence. Born on September 2, 1942, in Maben, he was a son of the late Casy Fooshee and Frances Baynham Fooshee.

Harrel was a graduate of Tyronza, Arkansas, High School. On March 25, 1966, he married Peggy Edwards. Harrel was an entrepreneur and the sole proprietor of Fooshee Auto Center for more than twenty years. He was a member of East Amory Missionary Baptist Church and God was first in his life. Harrel loved his family, especially his grandchildren and he was passionate about drag racing. As a mechanic, he often passed time fixing all sorts of things and loved figuring out how to make things work. Harrel was diverse and enjoyed listening to all sorts of music.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Peggy Edwards Fooshee, Amory; daughter, Jessica Hendrix (Justin), Amory; sons, Anthony Fooshee (Marla), Amory, Chad Fooshee (Missy), Birmingham; grandchildren, April Fooshee, Courtney Fooshee, Lauren Fooshee, Matthew Fooshee, Ethan Fooshee, Emma Fooshee, Ellie Fooshee, Casy Peden, June Hendrix; great children, Lexius Edwards, and Remmington Fooshee; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, November 16, at East Amory Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Roger Akers officiating. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jerry Rasburry, Rex Shackelford, Mike West, Ken Knott, Jamie Fowlkes, and Larry Pickle. Honorary pallbearers will be C.B. Peden, Men of East Amory Missionary Baptist Church, and the Tyronza High School Class of 1961.

Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM, Saturday at EE Pickle Funeral Home. Mr. Fooshee will lie in state at the church on Sunday from 1pm until the service hour.

Donations, in lieu of flowers, maybe made to East Amory Missionary Baptist Church, 905 Hatley Road, Amory, MS 38821.
