Orange Beach, AL - Haran Mark Hunter, 54, died on Saturday, November 29, 2014, at his home in Orange Beach, AL. Born on December 4, 1959, in Decatur, AL, he was a son of Eva Nell Pickle Hunter and the late Mark G. Hunter.
Haran graduated from Decatur High School, and after two years at Belmont College in Nashville, he completed a degree in Recording Industry Management from MTSU in Murfreesboro, TN. His career spanned a wide range of employment opportunities such as work with Christian recording artists, managing theaters and arenas, and publicity management. He also worked as a ranch hand and finally went to real estate, where he worked for the past fifteen years. Haran was a member of First Baptist Church in Orange Beach.
Survivors include his mother, Eva Nell Hunter, Decatur, AL, and three sisters: Mara Hunter Rice (Rudy), DuQuoin, IL; Rena Hunter Burns (John), Franklin, TN; and Cindy Hunter Windle (Mark), Hot Springs, AR. He also left many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service led by Dr. Rob Jackson will be Thursday, December 4th at Central Baptist Church in Decatur. Visitation will begin at 12:00 followed by the memorial service at 1:00.
A Graveside Service with inurnment following will be at 11 AM, Saturday, December 6 in Smithville Cemetery, Smithville. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:50 AM.
