Gregory Cooper Hall, 54, died on Monday, July 23, 2012 at his home in Smithville. Born July 6, 1958 in Columbia, MS, he was a son of Dawn Cooper Hall Morgan and the late James L. Hall. A graduate of the Mississippi University for Women, he also received his Master’s degree in Psychology from Mississippi State University. A caring and compassionate individual, he worked as a counselor in Winfield, Alabama and for Allied Services in Aberdeen until his health failed. He attended Smithville Baptist Church and the North Mississippi Worship Center. He enjoyed playing chess especially with his nephew, Jon Knotts.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 27, 2012 at the Center Terrace Baptist Church in Canton, MS with Dr. Dudley Nash officiating. Burial will be in the Society Hill Cemetery in Columbia, MS.
Survivors include his mother, Dawn C. Morgan of Canton, MS; 3 sisters, Melissa H. Knotts of Amory, Mollie Rhodes (Scott) of Brandon, MS, and Joan Vial (John) of Foxworth, MS; one brother, Charlie Morgan, Jr. (Susie) of Canton, MS; nieces and nephews, Caleb E. Knotts (Danielle), Jonathan Knotts, Daniel Knotts, Piper and McKenna Rhodes, and David and Matt Morgan; and great nieces and nephews, Jocelyn Knotts, Christian Knotts, Ellah Kate Knotts, and Lyric Knotts.
He was preceded in death by his father.
