Amory— Grace Marie Clark Hand, 75, passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born in Starke, Florida, on July 9, 1943, to the late Luther Allen and Janie Pearl Smith Clark.
Grace graduated from Dan McCarty High School in Fort Pierce, Florida. She loved her large family and she was blessed by God with children and a loving husband. She married John L. Hand on Easter Sunday, March 30, 1975. They had met in Florida and eventually moved to Amory. Grace worked at Lucky Star Manufacturing, as a Seamstress for Amory Garment, and at the Amory Middle School cafeteria. She was a wonderful lady who was a people person. She would often joke about the additional family members whom she “adopted” and how they were her own.
She loved the Lord and was Baptist. She enjoyed attending church faithfully at Jones Chapel Baptist Church in Nettleton. Her family meant the world to her and she especially loved to spoil her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Grace liked watching the classic TV shows, like Gunsmoke, The Price is Right, Bonanza, and heart felt Christmas shows. She also listened to classic country, like Vince Gill and George Strait, as well as Gospel music. In her down time, she liked shopping with family and friends as well as solving all the world’s problems when talking on the phone with people she loved. She was a one of a kind caring mother and grandmother and she will be missed dearly. Her family rests knowing that she is with her Lord and Savior. She leaves behind sweet memories for them to cherish always.
Grace is survived by her loving husband, John L. Hand, Bigbee; daughters , Marilyn Quigly (Chris), Ft. Pierce, FL, Renee Simon, Tampa, FL; son, Johnny Hand, Bigbee; sisters, Helen Johnson, Ft.
